Improving Outcomes for TBI (IO-TBI)

Standardization of care and especially trauma resuscitations has shown to be able to drastically improve outcomes. In many low and middle income countries, there are limited clinical practice guidelines that are adopted and are standardized that are appropriate for the amount of resources available. For Traumatic Brain Injury in Tanzania, this problem is quite concerning. In order to improve outcomes for TBI patients, a clinical trauma registry has been established which has 2000 patients in 2 years. From this data, a locally relevant and clinically appropriate Clinical Practice Guideline is being established in order to standardize care.
