Leena is interested in neuroscience and the way it gives scientific explanations to our humanity. She is also interested in philosophy as it explains things about people as a collective society. With these two things she thinks it’s important to be active participants in our collective society, especially with something as fundamental as the human brain. As an East African, it also feels especially important for her to engage in meaningful ways with communities like hers where she has seen the impact lack of certain resources, training, education, and common practices can have on health.
